      Hi Mark,

Thanks for responding to my message.

It seems we only have a very tentative connection via Florence who did indeed marry Hubert Hudson but I believe they later divorced and Florence remarried.

I have no objection to you forwarding my email to your aunt as I may be able to offer some information that she does not have but I would prefer not to have my email displayed on the web.

I am quite willing to offer all the info I have on my family but as you say since my family is only vaugely connected the information may be of no use to you.

Best Regards and good luck with your research.

      Hi Graham

      Thanks for your email.

The MAWBEY connection is to my aunt who was descended from the HUDSON family of Conisborough Yorkshire. (She married my mother's brother).

I believe Florence MAWBEY married Hubert HUDSON in 1917. Hubert and Florence were her Great Uncle and Aunt (her paternal Grandmother Ada, being one of Hubert's sisters).

I'm afraid these people are right at the periphery of the research that I have done, but I will forward your email on to my aunt and let you know if she comes back with anything (or she may come back to you directly).

If you like I can also add your father's details to my database (and therefore the website) and add a note under it that with your email address that will appear on the website (so that people might contact you). Let me know whether you want me to do this or not as I know some people don't like their email address to be published on web pages.

      Thanks for getting in touch.

      All the best
      Mark Stanton

      Tree: Family Tree

      Description: Hi,
I came across this site while searching the internet for references to my Uncle Walter Mawbey born c1889 KIA 1917 in Belgium, who was a son of Walter and Elizabeth and sister to Florence.
My Father was Albert Mawbey also born in Wybbersliegh Cheshire. I have other information on this family line which I will gladly share if you wish to contact me at the above email, as I am interested in what happened to Florence and what your connection to her is.
      Kindest Regards
      Graham Mawbey

It is interesting that Mary Ann Tyas was born in Conisborough. Do you know
when she died? My mother was born in Conisborough in 1920 - I am wondering if that was because her grandmother was still alive and living there. I have been corresponding with Pat Stocks who has sent me pages from the
Hudson family bible as well as some copies of certificates. Also a picture
of Herbert Thompsom, Ada's son and he looks so like my grandfather Hubert,
who would have ben his uncle. I have only one picture of my grandfather but
if you do family pictures i can e-mail it to you. It was taken when he was
about 30 I think. I am still trying to find out when he died but so far have
only very vague answers - I just know it was later than 1965.
      Thanks for information
      Keep in touch

      Hi Jacky
Thanks for giving me access to your tree. I will update my database with
some of the details to fill in the descendent line for Hubert if you are
ok with that. These individuals will appear on my website and also in my
rootsweb database - though all reference to "Living" persons is marked
private and is not accessible to "joe public" users.
Sorry to hear you had some trouble getting onto my website. Can you let me
know how far you got? should take you to my site which gives you
an option to search on surnames. If you search on HUDSON you will get a
list of all the HUDSON's. Then by clicking on the name you want to see
detail of you should be taken to a page for that individual. There are a
number of tabs in the middle of the screen called things like Descendents/
Ancestors etc. which will produce the data in a tree format. Or you can
click on the Mother's or Father's names or the "Group Sheet" to see where
the individual lies in relation to the family group.
Hope that helps - let me know if you are still having problems.
      All the best

      Hi Mark (again)
I have opened my tree on GR for you to see. let me know if you have a
I looked at the Stanton site this afternoon - I couldn't seem to get into
it all - do I have to log on? - I didn't try very hard!
I'll also make sure that I have included what I know about Hubert. He and
my grandmother separated in 1930 (finally divorced 1944) so I only saw him
at irregular intervals. My mum is his daughter, Florence Elizabeth
(Betty), both her siblings Arthur and Lily are dead. Having said that I
do remember him well and the date given for his death on the Hudson family
tree is definitely wrong, he lived well into his 80's - I saw my dad today
and intended to ask him if he remembered when grandad Hudson died but I
forgot. Unfortunately my mother has Altziemers and so can't tell me.
keep in touch, let me know if you get access to my tree on genes reunited
